NMHC Member Services
The Collaborative currently provides services in the form of education, policy development/advocacy, and resources to its members. It is expected that the focus and specific activities of the Collaborative will vary over time, as needed to respond to developing technologies, medical treatments and procedures, healthcare policies, and research. Currently, the Collaborative is utilizing a cloud-based document system for resource sharing and information exchange.
For example, with the COVID-19 pandemic came the expansion and general acceptance of telemedicine virtually overnight. With this change came the immediate need for a centralized resource for telehealth education, policy development, and resources. The Collaborative intends to fulfill this role with new developments that are introduced into the delivery of healthcare.
Current Member Benefits/Services Include:
The Collaborative promotes education for medical and healthcare practitioners through on-demand training and the development of fact sheets addressing various areas of concern to healthcare providers. These materials may include information about privacy and security laws, billing and coding for new patient services, and telehealth regulations by state. The Collaborative correspondingly will produce fact sheets the practitioners may use to educate their patients.
- Telemedicine guidelines, best practices, etc. (coming soon)
The Collaborative engages in policy development and advocacy to ensure the voice of healthcare practitioners is heard on matters affecting their regulation and financial profitability.
The Collaborative provides resources to practitioners and patients that facilitate patients’ access to care. These activities may include the development of provider directories, sample consent and clinical consulting forms, research related to available platforms or service providers who can help advance the delivery of patient care in our changing world.
2021 Member Benefit – Association Health Plan (Coming Soon)
As an added benefit to employer members of the Member associations and societies, the Collaborative also anticipates sponsoring and maintaining an association health plan (AHP) that is governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (“ERISA”). The group medical plan will be a fully-insured plan.
